Wai Kai Surf Lesson (ages 10+); Ready to catch your first wave? The Wai Kai Wave is the perfect entry to surfing: no paddling, no pop-ups, no stress. Designed for first-timers and novice surfers, it offers a smooth, fun and safe way to experience the thrill of surfing. Includes a one-hour lesson on the world’s largest standing wave, hands-on instruction from expert surfers, a soft-top surfboard and helmet, and free parking.

Ages: The Ultimate and the Surf Lesson are for ages 10 and up. Lagoon Explorer and Lagoon Adventure are for ages 4 and up; the main obstacle courses are for ages 7+, while children aged 4–6 use the Keiki Course. The Ohana Splash Pad is open to all ages.
Waiver: One waiver per guest per calendar year. Complete it in advance through your confirmation email to skip the Guest Services line.
Hours: Hours vary by activity; surfing, paddling and dining each run on their own schedule. Check your confirmation for the times that apply to your booking.
Shuttle: A round-trip shuttle from Waikiki or Ko Olina is available as a separate add-on.

Arrive at the Guest Services Launch Center at Wai Kai. If you completed your waiver in advance through your confirmation email, you can go straight to the activity location to collect your wristband.
Collect your life jacket and equipment. Staff will walk you through the layout of the lagoon and the safety rules for each activity.
Paddle the 52-acre lagoon on a paddleboard, kayak or hydro bike, or head straight for the floating obstacle course. There is no set schedule — move between activities as you like.
Ultimate pass holders take a session on the Wai Kai Wave, a standing surf wave suited to beginners and experienced surfers alike.
Take a break at the Ohana Splash Pad, on a lounger under an umbrella, or at one of the on-site dining spots. Ultimate pass holders have VIP Lounge access and dining credits.
Rinse off in the showers and changing areas before heading out.

No. Wai Kai is built around a sheltered inland lagoon, so the water stays calm regardless of ocean conditions. That makes it well suited to families and first-time paddlers.
Three passes. Wai Kai Ultimate Experience (ages 10+, from $164) includes a surf session, Paddle Pass, the floating obstacle courses, Nalo Kai access with a locker, VIP Lounge access and dining credits. Lagoon Explorer (ages 4+, from $25) covers paddling plus the obstacle courses. Lagoon Adventure (ages 4+, from $25) covers the floating obstacle courses.
Passes start at $25. The Lagoon Adventure runs from $25 to $75, the Lagoon Explorer from $25 to $90, and the Ultimate Experience from $164. Prices vary by age and season and are subject to change.
A standing surf wave that runs continuously, so you can practise without waiting for ocean swell. A surf session is included with the Ultimate Experience, and separate surf lessons and sessions are also available.
Over an acre of interconnected inflatables — AquaVenture, the elevated AquaPeakz course, the Ewa Slider 20-foot slide and climb tower, plus balance beams, monkey bars, wiggle bridges and splash zones.
The Ultimate Experience is for ages 10 and up. Lagoon Explorer and Lagoon Adventure are for ages 4 and up. Within those, the AquaVenture, AquaPeakz and Ewa Slider are for ages 7+, children aged 4 to 6 use the Keiki Course, and the Ohana Splash Pad is open to all ages.
Life jackets are provided and required, and lifeguards are on duty. Comfort in the water helps, but you do not need to be a strong swimmer.
Yes. Paddleboards, kayaks, hydro bikes and life jackets are included with the relevant passes at no extra charge.
Yes. Showers and changing areas are on site, along with loungers, umbrellas and private beach access.
